WYS Bystronic-Type Lower Die Holder, H93 mm

The WYS Bystronic-type lower die holder is a press brake tooling accessory designed to increase the installed height of a lower die and provide stable support for interchangeable bottom tools.

When a standard lower die does not provide sufficient working height for the selected press brake setup, this holder raises the die to achieve the required tool installation height. The standard model has a 93 mm overall height and a 73 mm effective height.

The holder can accommodate different compatible lower dies with the corresponding mounting tang. This allows operators to change the V-opening, die angle or lower-tool profile without replacing the complete mounting assembly. By allowing several compatible lower dies to share one holder, the system can reduce tooling costs, shorten setup time and improve production efficiency.

The effective height, overall width and tool length can be customized according to the customer’s press brake, lower dies and finished-part requirements. Continuous lengths and segmented configurations are available for different bending applications.

Product Details / Manufacturing Quality

The lower die holder has an overall height of 93 mm, including a 20 mm-high lower mounting section. Its resulting effective height is 73 mm, providing additional elevation beneath the installed lower die.

The upper mounting slot is designed to receive a compatible lower-die tang. Different dies can therefore be installed on the same holder, provided that their mounting dimensions and rated loads are compatible. This modular tooling arrangement allows a factory to use different V-openings and die profiles without purchasing every lower die as a complete full-height tool.

Precision-machined mounting surfaces help maintain stable positioning and accurate alignment between the upper punch and lower die. Correct alignment is important for consistent bend angles, even load distribution and reduced risk of tooling damage.

The holder is manufactured from 42CrMo alloy steel for strength, toughness and resistance to deformation. The material, heat treatment, holder dimensions and permissible load can also be adjusted according to the intended bending application.

Efficient and Flexible Lower Tool Setup

Using a common lower die holder allows compatible dies to be changed more efficiently. Operators can select the appropriate V-opening or die profile for the current material and workpiece while retaining the same supporting holder.
